Here Are Some Signs To Watch Out For That May Indicate Someone Is Experiencing Anxiety
Jul 16, 2025
Hey Friends!
One thing I've learned is that anxiety can manifest in many different ways. Some people may be more vocal about their anxious feelings, while others may try to hide them.
Here are five that I’ve picked up over the years:
- Compulsively doing something with their body: People with anxiety may have a hard time sitting still or feeling comfortable in their own skin. They may fidget, bite their nails, pick at their skin, or shake their leg as a way to release nervous energy.
- Zoning out and becoming quiet: Anxiety can be mentally exhausting, and some people may withdraw or become quiet as a way to cope. They may struggle to engage in conversations or appear to be "checked out."
- Canceling plans last minute: When anxiety flares up, it can be overwhelming and make it difficult to follow through on commitments. If someone you know frequently cancels plans or makes excuses for not attending events, they may be struggling with anxiety.
- Becoming irritable: Anxiety can also manifest as irritability or frustration. Someone with anxiety may become short-tempered or easily agitated, especially if they feel overwhelmed or unable to control their thoughts.
- Constantly needing to go to the bathroom: Anxiety can have physical symptoms, and one common sign is a frequent need to use the bathroom. This can be due to increased heart rate, tension in the body, or digestive issues.
If you notice any of these signs in someone you know, it's important to approach the situation with ❤️❤️compassion and understanding❤️❤️. Encourage them to seek professional help and offer your support in any way you can.
