How Do You Know if You’re in the Wrong Relationship?

Hey Friends,

Are you in the right relationship? Sometimes it's hard to tell if your romantic rendezvous is a match made in heaven or if you're better off swiping left on this love story. But fear not, I've put together a list to help you determine if you're in the wrong relationship…

  1. The Titanic Sinking Feeling If you have a sinking feeling that your love boat is more like the Titanic than a romantic cruise, it might be time to reevaluate. A good relationship should feel like a relaxing vacation, not an impending iceberg collision. This doesn't mean that every day will be sunshine and rainbows, but more times than not it should be pleasant.
  2. BFF or CIA Agent? If your partner's more like a CIA agent, tracking your every move and monitoring your texts, it's not a budding romance – it's a budding thriller! In a healthy relationship, trust is key, and partners shouldn't feel the need to go all James Bond on each other. These early checking behaviors may be indicators of unhealthy attachment styles or potential abusive patterns.
  3. Roller Coaster of Emotions If your relationship is a never-ending roller coaster ride of ups and downs, it might be time to hop off before you lose your lunch. A healthy relationship should feel more like a leisurely carousel ride – steady, supportive, and enjoyable.
  4. Rom-Com or Horror Movie? If your relationship feels more like a scene from "The Exorcist" than a rom-com, you might want to call it quits before your head starts spinning. Relationships should bring out the best in you, not turn you into a horror movie character.
  5. Future Fears If the thought of a future together has you reaching for a time machine to escape, then Houston, we have a problem. In a healthy relationship, planning a future together should feel exciting and fulfilling, not like a dreadful sci-fi flick.
  6. The Makeover Madness If your partner is constantly trying to give you a makeover – emotionally, physically, or spiritually – they might be trying to create their ideal partner rather than appreciating the fabulous person you already are. The right relationship should make you feel like a star, not a fixer-upper project.

So, there you have it! Seven signs you might be in the wrong relationship. Can you relate to any of these? Are you riding the roller coaster of doom, or basking in the glow of a perfect rom-com?

I am here to talk with you about any of these concerns you have. Just reach out to me. Sometimes it is so hard to evaluate these things alone. Let me help you find the clarity you need in your romantic partnerships.
